On 31 Mar 1826, Ireland, Enniskillen. Regiment moved to Londonderry, with detachments, from April, at Lifford, Raphoel, Gorton, Deighbridge, Killybegs, Knockalla, McArnish, Inah Island, Green Castle, Carndonagh, Dunree, Fort Dungiven, Newtown, Limsoady and Castle Dawson
During July 1826, Ireland, Birr. Regiment moved to Birr, on to Limerick in December and then to Butterant in April 1827 to prepare for embarkation for Canada. Depot companies formed at Butterant and left behind.
During June the rest of Regiment embarked on HMS 'Romsey' and the transport 'Arab'
On 13 Sept 1826, Ireland, Enniskillen. Detachments recalled. Regiment returns to Enniskillen and remained here until May 1828, with detachments at Cavan, Virginia, Kingscourt, Cookhill, Clones, Monaghan, Ballygawley, Omagh, Ballyshannon and Sligo
On 8 May 1828, Mauritius, Mahebourg. Regiment marched to Port Louis with detachments to Grand River, Se Flaq, Poudre D'or, Cannonier Point, Powder Mills and Curepipe.
On 17 May 1828, Ireland, Templemore. Detachments recalled to Enniskillen and the Regiment marched to Templemore, with detachments at Thurles, Littleton, Tipperary and Bansha
On 30 June 1828, Ireland, Templemore. Regiment marched to Limerick leaving the sick and heavy baggage behind, also the detachments at Tipperary and Thurles. The remaining detachments recalled
On 30 June 1828, Ireland, Templemore. Detachments deployed to Limerick and to Clare Castle, Newmarket and Six Mile Bridge during the elections at Enniskillen
On 8 July 1828, Ireland, Limerick. Regiment marched back to Templemore where it remained until July 1829, with detahcments deployed to Nenagh and Roscrea in September 1828
On 8 Oct 1828, South Africa, Capetown. Lieutenant Colonel Bartley embarked with Headquarters Division on the Indiaman, 'Coldstream' and disembarked in Calcutta on 10 December.
The other division under Lieutenant Colonel Dennis embarked on 19 October and disembarked in Calcutta on 20 January 1829.
On 17 Jan 1829, India, Fort William. All but three companies marched for Berhampur, arriving there during February.
On 26 January the Regiment was re-organised into nine Companies in India and one for recruiting at home.
On 6 February the remaining three companies under Colonel Dennis left to join others at Berhampur.
The Regiment remained at Berhampur until October 1832.
On 13 Apr 1829, England. His Majesty was greatly pleased to approve of the Regiment retaining on its colours and appointments the word 'Peninsula' in commemoration of the late second Battalion's service in the Peninsula and France from October 1813 to August 1814
On 27 July 1829, Ireland, Templemore. Detachments recalled. The Regiment received orders to March to Limerick where they remained until March 1830, with detachments at Nenagh, Rathkeale, Killaloe, Bruff and Glenasheen
On 21 Sept 1829, India, Berhampur. General Sir Gordon Drummond G.C.B. became Colonel of the Regiment.
On 30 July 1830 Lieutenant Colonel Daniell arrived from Cape and took command.
In February 1831 Lieutenant Colonel Dennis took over command from Lieutenant Colonel Daniell, who went to Cawnpore, returning to the Regiment on 5 October 1832.
On 22 Mar 1830, Ireland, Templemore. The Regiment marched to Cork, en route for Chatham, and over the 2, 4, 6 and 7 June the Regiment embarked for Madras at Chatham on 2 June.
