On 30 Dec 1861, Canada, Nova Scotia, Halifax. Regiment embarked on screw steamer 'Delta' for St. Andrews, New Brunswick, arriving there and disembarking on 1 January. The same day the Regiment entrained for Canterbury. Snow blocked line. Line opened on 2 January. Journey was completed , but in two halves The Regiment then proceeded on 2 January in two parts by sleigh in heavy snow to Woodstock, arriving the same day
