During 1814, Sicily. 1/62nd sailed with an expedition landing at Leghorn, from where they marched to Genoa. The enemy having retired here, an action took place which terminated in its capture. The Regiment in common with the rest of the troops received the thanks of His Royal Highness the Prince Regent.
