On 2 Apr 1885, Sudan, Near Suakin. Battalion remained in Tofrek Zariba, Tamai Road from 22 March 1885 to 2 April 1885, into which the enemy fired nightly. On 2 April the Battalion marched on Tamai. Arrived at Teselah Hills, constructed Zariba and bivouacked. The next day, 3 April, the Battalion, in Brigade, marched towards Tamai. There was light contact with the enemy. A village was burned by the cavalry. Returned to Zariba and bivouacked. One killed, two wounded. On 4 April the Battalion marched to Suakin and encamped. On 6 April the Battalion escorted convoy to Tofrek Zariba and back. On 9 April the Battalion marched to West Redoubt and encamped. On 11 April the Battalion marched to and encamped in Zariba Handrouh Road.
