On 10 Feb 1814, Spain, Garris. 2/66th. Hill's Division were ordered to move south-eastward and Byng's Brigade took part in the Battle of Garris. Later in the month, on the 24th, the First Provisional Battalion moved to about five miles south of Orthez. The next day the 2nd Division crossed the Gare by a ford at about a mile above Orthez
