49th Regiment - Miniature 3 inch high porcelain portrait, in a wooden frame, of Captain S. Richmond of the 49th Regiment who was born in 1795 and died in 1869; he was the son of Sylvester and Elizabeth Pole and was commisioned as an Ensign into the Regiment in 1811. A great deal more infomation about him is available on page 56 of the Royal Berkshire Regiment 1743-1914 which can be purchased from the Museum shop.
