Volunteers Needed...

 

Could you be a volunteer at The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum? 
 
  • You would become part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers who contribute enormously to the functioning of the museum. 
  • We offer a variety of roles including working with Visitor Services team on the Front Desk, working with our Research Enquiries team or help to maintain our beautiful riverside garden. 

  • Whether you can offer time once a week, fortnightly or monthly our volunteering options are flexible and can be arranged to suit you.

  • If you are over 18 and are able to offer your time then please do get in touch.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Front Desk Team

You would be part of a dedicated team of volunteers who welcome and engage with visitors to a high standard of customer care.  The role is a vital one to the museum which involves selling tickets and shop items and operating the till. 

  • No experience required and full training is provided. 

Archives/ Research Enquiries

We are currently looking for volunteers to support the Research Enquiries service.  The service is extremely popular and involves working with our archive collections as well as online databases and other collections. 

  • Ideally, some research experience would be ideal.  Training is provided.

Gardener

We are currently looking for garden volunteers to work in our beautiful riverside garden supporting our garden team.  There are a variety of opportunities to plant, prune and generally maintain this special setting. 

  • Some gardening experience would be preferable but not essential.
